Little Elm Area Food Bank has been serving families in the Little Elm Area for 40 years! Our annual gala helps to fund this mission and ensures that we are able to continue our work into the future. This event will be an evening filled with fun, food and festivities!

About the event
The Little Elm Area Food Bank began in 1984 when founder Pearl Gentsch requested cans of food for the poor instead of gifts for Christmas. The old First Baptist Church served as storage in the early days. The Food Bank soon outgrew the church location and was moved to a room at the original Little Elm Community Center until 2002, when the food bank moved again to a space near the Post Office. The Lawrence/McWhorter Foundation managed operations for several years and added a resale shop.
In 2005, the Little Elm Area Food Bank moved to its current location at 501 Bill Street. This space was remodeled by the Town of Little Elm and offered as a lease to the LEAFB at a minimal fee.
