We know visiting a food bank for the first time can feel overwhelming, so we’ve put together answers to the questions we hear most often. Our goal is to make the process simple, welcoming, and stress-free.

What are your hours of operation?

We are open:

  • Monday: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM

  • Tuesday: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

  • Thursday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Friday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

How do I contact the food bank?

Who can receive food from the Little Elm Area Food Bank?

We serve neighbors who live in Little Elm and surrounding areas who need food assistance.

What documents do I need to bring?

We request that you bring:

  • A valid ID (driver’s license, state ID, or passport)

  • Proof of residency (such as a utility bill, lease agreement, or official letter)

Do I need to show proof of income?

No, we do not require proof of income to receive food.

How often can I receive food?

Neighbors can visit once per month for food assistance.

What types of food will I get?

We provide a mix of non-perishable pantry staples, refrigerated and frozen items, and through our partnership with FLEAS (Friends of the Little Elm Animal Shelter)—dog and cat food when available.

What happens when I arrive for the first time?

First-time visitors will fill out a short set of forms. Please plan to arrive 15–30 minutes before closing so you have enough time to complete registration and receive food.

Can someone pick up food on my behalf?

Yes. We allow a proxy to pick up food for you. We request that they bring their ID and let us know who they are picking up for.

Is help available if I can’t carry my food to the car?

Absolutely. Our volunteers always assist you with loading food into your vehicle.

Do you offer resources other than food?

Yes, we can connect you with information about utility assistance, clothing, housing support, medical resources, and more through our community partners. Check out our Resource Page!
