Moving Forward: LEAFB’s New Home After Two Decades

Big changes are happening at the Little Elm Area Food Bank. After 20 years at our previous location, we’re beginning a new chapter in a space we’re proud to call home.

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, partners, and volunteers, LEAFB has continued to grow. In 2025, we served 4,121 families and saw a 73% increase in need. That same year, we received 349,378 pounds in food donations, making it clear we needed a space that could grow with us.

Why This Move Matters

Our new facility gives us the space we need to operate more efficiently and better serve our neighbors. With improved storage, more workspace for volunteers, and a smoother distribution flow, this move allows us to do what we do best: get food into the hands of those who need it.

This transition isn’t just about square footage. It’s about building a space that supports our volunteers, honors the families we serve, improves organization, and creates a more welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors.

A Huge Thank You to Our Moving Volunteers

Relocating a food bank doesn’t happen without a lot of muscle, patience, and teamwork. Our volunteers showed up and showed out. In only two days, volunteers helped load and unload food, build and pack shelves, transport equipment, and reorganize the new space.

Their hard work turned what could have been an overwhelming process into a smooth and successful transition. Every box carried and every shelf set up helped us get one step closer to reopening our doors and continuing service. We are deeply grateful to everyone who gave their time and energy to help make this move possible.

What’s Next

With this new space, we’re excited to continue expanding our services, welcoming new volunteers, and strengthening partnerships that help us fight food insecurity in Little Elm and surrounding areas. While our address may have changed, our mission remains the same. We can’t wait to welcome you into our new home, whether you’re stopping by to volunteer, donate, or pick up food.
